Meet TWOSTAY Coworking to prevent loneliness now also in Frankfurt
Twostay Coworking is an award-winning dual-use concept: the start-up transforms bars and restaurants into workplaces that are right next door to you. Now Twostay has come to Frankfurt, too! From June 15th on, you will be able to cowork with Twostay right in Frankfurt’s city centre at Walden! You even have the chance to get a free ticket.
Twostay uses spaces that already exist but are usually unoccupied during the day, such as restaurants, bars or hotel lobbies. With Twostay, these become coworking spaces. The dual use is more resource-efficient and inspiring than building new office complexes that lack atmosphere. The coworkers at Twostay are mainly:
- Freelancers who want to establish a network,
- remote employees who don’t want to travel long distances, and
- Parents who have their heads buried in the clouds at home.
The model is that sustainable — due to its dual use — that the City of Munich honoured the start-up with the Munich Innovation Award in the category “Climate Neutral Munich”. The startup also won the “Green Cities” award from EnBW and the “PropTech Innovation Award” from GermanTech and Union Investment.
Due to their past as freelancers, the focus of the two founders, Cecilia Chiolerio and Dorothea Haider, always lies on the users themselves. This also means that a lot of emphasis is put on being as flexible as possible and offering users the opportunity to drop by spontaneously, e.g. to buy a half-day ticket for 6€.
The Twostay model is so flexible that it can be applied in any city or neighbourhood — all it takes is a restaurant, a hotel lobby or a room of the local municipality that is not being used during the day. The founders dream of having Twostay Spaces in every community and city across Europe. Everyone should have a Twostay Space near them.
The coworkers usually come from the immediate neighbourhood. Twostay provides a meeting place in the local area, thus the neighbourhood gains visibility and is revitalised through its diverse use. Neighbours get to know each other and new networks are formed.
The future of working looks different from working at fixed hours in static office buildings, which usually involves lengthy commutes. People wish for more flexibility and an inspiring working environment. Twostay wants to offer people such flexibility.
Twostay started in Munich in August 2019, there are currently two spaces there. There are other Twostay Spaces in Cologne and Leipzig. Further openings are in the pipeline!
The community host of Twostay Coworking in Frankfurt is Nadja Todt. Nadja was born and raised in Germany but has spent 11 years abroad in several different countries. In Frankfurt, Twostay collaborates with Walden. While the ground floor is always full with restaurant guests you`ll find a great ambience to work on your own projects and ideas on the 1st floor with more than 230sqm. Walden is ideally located in the city and gives you the perfect work environment. The bar operator is happy to support the sustainable model for creatives.
