100 years of Braun 100 years of innovative products, 100 years of good and timeless design


In this anniversary year, the traditional brand is looking to the past, but also especially to the future. The focus is on continuing to develop products with timeless aesthetics that simplify life and have a long service life. A maxim from the past, in which Max Braun already believed, which laid the foundation for the company’s establishment and which will also endure in the future.

Founded on February 1, 1921 as a small engineering workshop in Frankfurt am Main, this year Braun is celebrating the company’s anniversary as an internationally successful design brand. The product classics from Braun have a long tradition in many households and guarantee the company’s market success. “Good design for a better future” was already one of the founding principles at Braun. Since the engineers have always worked with well-known designers, Braun stands for products that are characterized by intuitive, useful and durable design. This is evident to this day in every single Braun product, from razors to hand blenders.

The commitment to technically and optically durable products is of particular importance in times of rapid consumption and is now accompanying the company on its way to a sustainable future. Good design can have a positive influence on the future — this attitude will continue to shape Braun for the next 100 years. There will be the following highlights in the anniversary year 2021: many Braun products in a Design Edition *; a cooperation with a well-known designer ** and of course this year’s BraunPrize, which in this special year is all about “good design for a better future”.
