Wingcopter — strong end of 2020 for an Hessen Pioneer startup
The German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure announced this week that they will fund Wingcopter as part of the SUCOM (Superior UTM Communication System) project. The project, which is led by Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, intends to develop a communication system based on cellular networks to integrate drones more efficiently into the existing air traffic and to make flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) safer. The SUCOM project is funded with a total of 1.15 million euros.
On top, also this week, Wingcopter was selected as winner of the KfW Entrepreneur’s Award 2020 for the state of Hessen.
Earlier this month, Wingcopter showcased it´s technology at GITEX Technology Week 2020 in Dubai.
What will 2021 bring to this team? Delivering Covid vacines with drones?
What about delivering Christmas presents? Maybe Santa needs some help. Sorry, this is just us getting into the Christmas mood ???
