The Newcomers Festival 2020 edition is here with us! This year’s event will mark the 20th anniversary since the festival was established in 2001. Unlike many events this year being virtual, this festival is happening, real, and live at Römer Frankfurt on Sunday, 20th September.
Newcomers Festival has now become a tradition for the city of Frankfurt and is always held annually on the first Sunday in September in the Frankfurt town Hall, the Römer. The Festival is an informative fair exclusively designed for the professional experts coming into Frankfurt and Germany to help them overcome the transitional phase and cultural differences and have a smooth start in their new home.
The event is a family-oriented exhibition-fair of essential services and organizations for the expatriate community. The Newcomers Festival hosts every year around 60 exhibitors from different industries such as relocation companies, international schools, health insurance, banking and finance, driving and language schools, non-profit organizations, clubs, museums, theaters, tourism & many more. All this is aimed at ensuring the newcomer is aware of all the essential services and where to look for whenever he needs help.
The Festival has grown over the years and is successfully attracting from year to year more and more visitors. Last year’s festival was attended by more than 5,000 people from 95 countries. Besides the exhibition of valuable and important information concerning their integration and living opportunities in Frankfurt, the visitors are welcomed to enjoy the entertainment program, international musical dance groups, and food & drinks reflecting the local gastronomy.
This year’s event will focus on the safety of the visitors and the exhibitors. A profound and extensive hygiene-concept will be in place to ensure everyone in the hall is safe. All visitors (and exhibitors) have to pre-register for the Festival online. Only registered guests may enter the festival. Tickets will be scanned at the door entry. There is a maximum of 250 visitors at a time for the festival. Extended opening hours will be offered for the event this year. In general, there is more space in Römer Frankfurt, an additional floor will be opened during the event. There will be lots of space to move around, between the stalls. A one-way system operation will be in place this year to reduce any risk of infection. Furthermore, visitors and exhibitors will have to wear masks on the premises of the Festival.
